Originally a trio called Shabutie, Coheed and Cambria
dropped the name when they took on a different sound. After a poppy
metal rock sound for years, the group altered their sound and released
their first album in 2002 called "The Second Stage Turbine Blade."
Equal Vision Records eventually picked the group up. In 2003, Coheed
and Cambria released "Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth:3." The album
peaked at No. 52 on Billboard's 200 chart. By 2004, it was No.5 on the
Top Independent Albums chart.
The group went on to play shows in North America with artists such
as AFI, Thrice, Thursday and Rainer Maria. In 2005, they released "I'm
Burning Star IV, Vol.1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness."
