Born Damon Gough, Badly Drawn Boy shook his slacker's
image and proved himself to be a pop songwriter. He began recording
after meeting Andy Votel at a Manchester nightclub. The two formed a
label called Twisted Nervee and Gough debuted as Badly Drawn Boy.
The hype from his debut helped him to guest alongside Thom Yorke,
Richard Ashcroft, and Mike D on the 1997 release "U.N.K.L.E." After his
1999 single, "Once Around the Block" kissed the British charts, XL
Recordings signed the pop singer and released "The Hour of
Bewilderbeast" in 2000. After scoring author Nick Hornby's "About a
Boy," he stayed low key for months to work on a new project. In 2002,
he came with "Have You Fed the Fish?" And in 2004, the singer emerged
once again with "One Plus One is One."
