Influenced by such artists as The Misfit, Iron Maiden, and Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, still somehow has their own style. The group, however, has been compared to Stutterfly, Death by Stereo, Manntis and Poison the Wall. It was in 1999, while still in high school, that the members of Avenged Sevenfold formed. The group consists of M. Shadows on (vocals), Zacky Vengeance (guitar), Synyster Gates (guitar), The Reverend (guitar), and Johnny Christ (bass). But, together they form an aggressive metal and punk pop style. In July 2001, the band debuted with "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" (Good Life) and two years later, "Walking the Fallen." The album peaked at No. 12 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums. It came in at No. 226 in the Top Internet Albums Category. In June 2005, the group teamed up with Warner Bros for "City of Evil." |
